Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec have danced their way into the Strictly Come Dancing record books, a fact they learned despite Tasha's initial insecurities about her place in the competition on BBC One. The pair, who joined It Takes Two for a chat with host Fleur East, opened up about their experiences so far on Strictly.

At 26, Tasha, alongside her 34 year old dance partner Aljaz, reflected on their Charleston routine and the mixed feedback that followed. Tasha confessed: "Emotionally, I think there was a lot of noise after we did the Charleston. And there was a lot of people saying just different things. And I started to feeling like 'Do I even deserve to be here? ' There was a point where I did start to feel like that."

However, the model/dancer shared how Aljaz's support helped her overcome her doubts, stating: "And eventually I thought, I'm here for myself, I'm here to make my friends and family proud and take on this experience."

Determined to maintain a "positive attitude" and increase her efforts in the contest, Tasha remained focused on her goals. The conversation took an uplifting turn when Fleur, having been on Strictly herself, revealed to the amazed couple that they had achieved an unprecedented milestone on the show: "At this stage in the competition, with a total of 172 points across the last five weeks, you are the highest scoring couple ever," she declared enthusiastically.

"In 20 years!", reports the Mirror. Aljaz queried with excitement, "You serious?" as he and Tasha couldn't contain their joy upon hearing the news. Fleur chimed in with equal enthusiasm, "I know, I know. It's amazing."

She went on to detail that Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin had secured second place, while Johannes Radebe and John Whaite were hot on their heels in third. An ecstatic Tasha exclaimed, "I did not expect that at all. I never thought in all the years of Strictly we'd be making history like that."
