Ralf Little has landed his first acting role since quitting Death In Paradise.

The actor played DI Neville Parker in the BBC detective drama and has now signed up to a new acting venture a few months after his departure from Death In Paradise. Fans were devastated when Ralf bid farewell to the BBC show, with Don Gilet set to replace him.

However, it won't be long until Ralf is back on our screens, with the actor set to star in the dystopian thriller The Flaw. The film will be the feature directorial debut for Theophilos Papastylianos.

The film is currently in production in Athens and Ralf will be joined by one of his former Death In Paradise co-stars. Danny John-Jules, who plays Dwayne Myers in the BBC drama, will also be starring in The Flaw.

The movie is based on the 1965 novel by Antonis Samarakis and is described as a story which "follows a ruthless Interrogator (David Dawson) who is ordered by the Special Service to follow a perfect Plan to prove a Suspect (Arthur McBain) is guilty."

Ralf's departure from Death In Paradise was announced earlier this year, and he admitted at the time he didn't want to go.

"This last series was always going to be my last series, I had talks with the BBC, and with Red Planet, the production company and we all agreed that it just felt... if it was in my heart, like if it was just a heart decision, I'd have wanted to do it for 20 more years," he said.

"But just for the show, and... for my character Neville, it just sort of felt like his story... it deserved to be sort of finished and his sort of journey... sort of deserved to be completed and he deserved a nice happy ending and so it just felt right."

Don Gilet will now replace Ralf's character, as new DI Mervin Wilson.

"Being offered the new lead role in Death in Paradise feels like a deeply loved and incredibly precious jewel has been placed in my hands. This is a big show, with a big heart and the love continually grows for it.

"It is my intention to never lose sight of that and to remain grateful, humbled and dedicated. Even during those testing times when every sinew is screaming at me to run off the set and dive into the sea, swimming pool or an ice-cold beer – whichever happens to be closer at the time!" he said.
