Strictly Come Dancing's Johannes Radebe in tears after 'highest score' of the series

Strictly Come Dancing's Johannes Radebe was moved to tears when he discovered his and Montell Douglas's record-breaking score.

The celebrities returned to the dance floor once again this weekend with everyone hoping to impress the judges and audiences at home with their new Halloween-themed routines.

The previous week witnessed Jamie Borthwick and Montell Douglas achieve impressive scores of 39, tying for the top spot on the leaderboard.

However, it was a less fortunate outcome for Paul Merson who scored 19, placing him at the bottom and marking his exit from the show.

This weekend levelled the playing field as the stars prepared to charm the judges with novel performances, including Montell and her professional partner Johannes Radebe, who yet again earned rave reviews for their effort.

They performed an energetic Cha Cha to "Love Potion No. 9" by The Clovers. Post-performance, when speaking with host Claudia Winkleman, she lauded their dance as "absolutely brilliant".

The moment arrived for scoring, and they amassed a total of 35 points, consisting of three nines and one eight.

As they rejoiced over their high score, Claudia delivered some exciting news: "That is the highest Cha Cha of this series."

But it wasnt just about the scores as emotions ran deep when Claudia observed Johannes and remarked: "You look like you're going to cry."

Montell shared her nerves before hitting the dance floor, admitting: "I was a bit nervous actually, I'll be honest, just before.

"I loved it but I was like, 'I'm really nervous'. Because of the speed I knew that, coming from a sprinter, I thought I'd be able to keep up!"

The audience's reaction to Montell and Johannes' performance was swift and positive, with one viewer tweeting: "Montell and Johannes are my favourite couple in the show so far. Seeing her progress from week one to now is incredible. That Cha Cha Cha was incredible."

Another fan expressed: "Montell and Jojo fast becoming one of my fave couples."

A third agreed: "My three favs all at the beginning gosh I wasn't ready, I'm SO proud of Pete and Montell is killing it every week, I think Punam was pretty good to #strictly."

Praise continued with another tweet highlighting Montell's elegance: "Montell Douglas and Johannes Cha cha cha was beautiful.
