Hugh Grant reveals wild night at Taylor Swift gig which saw him 'go crazy' with Travis Kelce
by Paul Turner, Hannah Roberts PA Entertainment Reporter · Wales OnlineHugh Grant has shared a wild anecdote about "going crazy" and knocking back tequila shots with Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, at one of her London concerts. The 64-year-old star of 'Bridget Jones' and 'Love Actually' recounted the lively experience while attending the gig in June with his wife and daughter.
On Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 breakfast show, Grant enthused: "I loved it. Couldn’t have enjoyed it more. " He continued, recalling the warm reception they received: "They were so nice to us. And she (his daughter) was bopping up and down."
Delving into the spirited antics, he said: "And, meanwhile, I was doing tequila shots with Taylor Swift’s very nice boyfriend, whose name has slipped my mind – Travis."
"We went crazy", he added. When discussing the tequila shots, Grant commented: "It’s revolting, isn’t it? As long as you’ve got a bit of lime and some salt..." The conversation on the radio show also turned to Grant's latest venture into the horror genre with the new film 'Heretic', where he confessed his unease with scary movies: "I remember having to leave a cinema in New York with my brother after 10 minutes. We just looked at each other and said ‘No, too frightening’ – in our 50s – and then went to another film in the same multiplex, sat there, 20 minutes in, ‘No, too frightening’." He humorously concluded: "The close-ups in this film are terrifying – I look like my grandmother. I mean, that literally could be her, but that’s good. It’s good for this particular film."
Grant shared earlier this year that he had been to a Swift concert, posting on X, previously known as Twitter, that the Anti-Hero singer put on "an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend". Other celebrities who attended the European leg of her tour included the Prince of Wales, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Tom Cruise and Sir Paul McCartney.
Swift's mammoth Eras Tour is set to continue with upcoming dates in Canada, concluding on December 8 in Vancouver.
