The contemporary adaptation of the classic 1973 thriller, The Day of the Jackal, follows MI6 as they pursue the elusive Jackal after a high-profile political assassination.
Filmed in London, Budapest, and various locations across Croatia, the series is touted as a gripping "thrilling cat-and-mouse chase" between the shadowy assassin and a dedicated special agent.
With an extensive cast, some roles have been publically disclosed to viewers, but there are a few characters with their identities under wraps.
Here's a look at the cast of The Day of the Jackal, set to premiere on Thursday (November 7) on Sky TV and NOW.
Eddie Redmayne plays The Jackal
Taking on the titular role of The Jackal, Eddie Redmayne steps into the shoes of the infamous hitman. The Jackal is a master of disguise capable of disappearing into a crowd or shifting his facade at will.
Eddie Redmayne vaulted to fame scooping up an Oscar for his stunning rendition of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything in 2014 and has since been celebrated for his character Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts film series.
The London-bred actor is also acclaimed for his parts in the musical epic Les Miserables, The Danish Girl, and courtroom drama The Trial of the Chicago 7. Not one to rest, Redmayne has recently wrapped a stint as the magnetic Emcee in Cabarets Broadway revival.
Lashana Lynch plays Bianca
Following the assassination, MI6 agent Bianca becomes part of the team hunting down The Jackal. With a knack for firearms and a personal interest in the case, Bianca finds herself deeply involved in the worldwide chase to apprehend him.
Her resolve to locate and capture The Jackal becomes all-consuming, morphing into an obsession that threatens to dominate her life.
Lashana Lynch is a British actress famed for her roles in Captain Marvel and the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Woman King, Matilda: The Musical, and the James Bond film, No Time to Die.
Úrsula Corberó plays Nuria
Nuria is "someone at the heart of The Jackal's personal life, entirely oblivious of his true identity".
Corberó is a Spanish actress with over two decades of experience, but she gained global recognition for her portrayal of Tokyo in the Netflix sensation Money Heist.
She has since featured in shows such as Snatch, Burning Body, and Mr and Mrs Smith.
Charles Dance plays Timothy Winthrop
Charles Dance OBE plays the mysterious character of Timothy Winthrop in the new Sky series. Little information is available about his role in the series.
The British actor is most recognised for his portrayals of Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones and Lord Mountbatten in The Crown.
Dance has also starred in other films and TV series including The Imitation Game, The Widow, Strike Back, Trinity, Last Action Hero, Alien 3, The King's Man, and the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only.
Chukwudi Iwuji plays Osita Halcrow
Chukwudi Iwuji takes on the role of Osita Halcrow, a member of MI6.
The Nigerian actor recently portrayed the villain High Evolutionary in the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and has other notable roles in Designated Survivor, When They See Us, The Split, Peacemaker, John Wick: Chapter Two, and Evil.
Who else is in The Day of the Jackal?
The ensemble cast features Lia Williams from The Crown as Isabel Kirby and Khalid Abdalla of The Kite Runner fame as Ulle Dag Charles.
Additional cast members include The Walking Dead's Eleanor Matsuura, Andor's Jonjo O'Neill, Slow Horses' Nick Blood as Vince, Classified's Sule Rimi and EastEnders actress Florisa Kamara.
