TV favourite Dermot O'Leary is celebrating a dozen years of wedded bliss with his wife Dee Koppang, keeping their private life mostly under wraps from the spotlight.

The presenter, known for his work on This Morning, exchanged vows back in September 2012 and took to Instagram recently to share an infrequent glimpse from their wedding day in honour of their milestone.

In the throwback image, the couple is seen joyously dancing to a live band at the reception, epitomising the essence of newlywed happiness.

Accompanied by the celebratory picture, Dermot, 51, lovingly captioned it: "12 years! " supplemented with a red heart emoji. Several celebrities expressed their well wishes, including his colleague from This Morning, Alison Hammond, who commented: "Congratulations", while All Saints songstress Nicole Appleton penned: "Omgoodness! Happy Anniversary."

The marriage ceremony took place at the historic St. Mary's Church in Chiddingstone, Kent, where Dee donned an elegantly simple silk dress adorned with lace.

The festivities continued into the evening at the enchanting Chiddingstone Castle.

A slew of stars were among the guests at the wedding such as Holly Willoughby, James Corden, and Bear Grylls.

Throughout their 12-year union, Dermot and Dee have maintained a low profile concerning their personal affairs.

During a candid QandA, O'Leary shared insight into the couple's enduring relationship, imparting wisdom for maintaining a strong bond.

His advice on matrimony was transparent: "No marriage is perfect. From the start we gave each other a lot of slack and compromised."

"This person's your best friend. Try not to give them a hard time. It's down to letting someone still have an active life individually. It's about being there when you need to be there."

The couple met in the early 2000s while both were carving out careers in the TV industry, and it was during a romantic getaway to New York in 2011 that Dermot proposed.

They are proud parents to their son Kasper, born in June 2020. Announcing his arrival, Dermot expressed his joy: "Welcome to the world baby Koppang O'Leary. We're delighted to announce that we've had a baby! ".

"Enjoying the cuddles in the newborn bubble... cats yet to be 100% convinced. Lots of love, Dermot and Dee x."

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Dermot reflected on how fatherhood has reshaped his priorities: "Having a child has changed what I want from life and what makes me happy. Do I need another car? The latest gadget? A bit of vintage Van Morrison vinyl? No, forget the material stuff."

"What I want is to be with the people I love! " He lamented the fact that Dee's career often keeps them apart, but cherished the family time they do have: "Dee's work means that we're not always together but, those evenings when we are, we make the most of spending proper time together as a family. I can't understand those parents who don't enjoy changing nappies or crawling around on the carpet pretending to be a racing car. Isn't that the absolute joy of being a parent? ".

At 46, Dee also has a successful career in television and film, though unlike her husband, she prefers to stay out of the limelight, working behind the scenes.

Dee Koppang O'Leary, renowned for her directorial work on high-profile Netflix shows such as The Crown and Bridgerton, has a career that spans a multitude of impressive projects. She's also been part of the BBC drama The Split and spoke about the experience: "It was wonderful because it felt like my directorial debut as well, as I come from a second-unit background. The Split was my first time as lead director, so the first time I was in charge of a whole episode, let alone a series. No pressure! "

Dee recounted how working on The Split afforded a unique opportunity to collaborate with her husband, Dermot, mentioning his "tiny cameo" in the show: "You never want it to feel nepotistic, but it was scripted that one of the characters is interviewed on a breakfast TV show, and it was one of those funny things where I felt it'd be so weird to get someone else! So I said, 'I might have someone I know who'd be up for this! '"

She couldn't resist expressing how thrilled Dermot was, being a fan himself: "Dermot is such a huge fan of The Split anyway, he was so over-excited to be part of it. I recently got to show him his section - and I mean it's a tiny cameo - but he was very excited. We've got some really good cameos this season, from Lily Cole to Tom Rhys Harries to Lindsay Duncan, it's amazing! "

Besides television, Dee has made her mark behind the scenes of major live events; she's played a pivotal role in producing and directing the glamorous Victoria's Secret Fashion Show since 2009 and was significantly involved in orchestrating the wonders of the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony in London.

Dee candidly mapped out the trajectory of her impressive career during a conversation with Directors UK, stating: "I was a runner, coordinator, researcher, AP, Shooting AP, DV Director, PD, series director etc. I spent the next 15 years working my way up in the exciting worlds of music shows, observational documentaries, live breakfast TV, and reality shows like Big Brother and Shipwrecked."

After getting her foot in the door as a runner, Dee's dedication has seen her rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in entertainment, having directed documentaries on Justin Bieber's world tour and collaborated with other A-list stars such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
