DI Ray's Witney White's life off-screen from exotic holidays to 'most challenging' event

DI Ray is set to return to ITV for a second series, bringing in fresh faces including the talented Witney White as DC Charlene Ellis.

Boasting a solid theatre background, Witney has shone in productions such as Wuthering Heights, Sylvia, and A Monster Calls.

Taking to Instagram, Witney reflected on her career's most demanding role, starring in Room, writing: "We say goodbye to Room. What a wonderful journey, it has been the most challenging and the most rewarding thing I've ever done."

She continued: "I poured my heart and soul into this show and I will miss it dearly."

Expressing her gratitude, she added: "Thank you to every single person involved, together I believe we created something very special. 'Room' will forever be in my heart."

Aside from acting, the Father Brown and Holby City actress often shares her other interests on social media, revealing her love for travel and animal welfare.

Showcasing her adventures on Instagram, Witney posted about her idyllic 2022 summer in Mallorca, saying: "Spent a week working with gorgeous people during the summer. Chicken cuddles, delicious food, learnt to dive, made art, sun, sea and swimming. Perfect, perfect, perfect!".

Witney has documented trips to several exotic locations over the years, including Marrakech, Cuba, Jamaica, and Florida.

Her on-screen presence dates back to 2013, featuring as Tulisa Brown in Doctors.

She had minor appearances in 'Cleaning Up' and 'Holby City', before landing the role of Scarlett Streatham in 'Father Brown'.

'DI Ray' is her debut as a regular on television, and she took to Instagram with enthusiasm to announce the news.

In the forthcoming episode, "the clock is ticking on tracing an armed fugitive after a third murder occurs, and DI Ray must face her past to find the next piece of the puzzle".
