BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Tasha Ghouri 'crashes' show illusion with one word

Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts took to social media on the weekend as they were quick to comment on Tasha Ghouri's slip-up.

The ex-Love Island celebrity enjoyed another triumphant evening in the ballroom over the weekend, as she graced the dance floor once more with her professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec.

They kicked off the eighth week's live show on Saturday night, quickstepping across the studio to Mariah Carey's song Fantasy. According to Shirley Ballas, Tasha and Aljaz delivered "everything we needed to see in a quick step", earning them 37 points from the judges.

This score placed them at the top of the leaderboard, tied with JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, whose samba performance to Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes "stunned" the four judges.

Commenting on their dance, judge Anton Du Beke said "I am stunned, stunned. Last week. You did your couple's choice and I said: 'Please can you bring this moving forward? Just bring it and stick it on another dance.' Man alive, did you bring it!"

During Sunday night's results show, it was announced that Tasha and Aljaz were among the eight couples progressing to the ninth week of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, which also signifies the annual journey to Blackpool for the entire show, reports the Manchester Evening News.

During an interview with Claudia Winkleman, Tasha was questioned about her experience in the seaside town as she mentioned driving through Blackpool to see the famous illuminations without stopping.

However, it was her response to Claudia's inquiry about being surprised to make it to the next round that sparked attention.

When asked if she was worried about her position in the competition, the 26 year old replied: "Everyone was amazing tonight. Everyone was incredible and you just don't know what's going to happen. It's at that point now where the competition is so spectacular you just never know."

However, it was Tasha's use of the word 'tonight' which got viewers flocking to social media as Strictly fans know the hosts and stars usually refer to the live show being 'last night' despite the results show being filmed straight after the main show on a Saturday night before being aired the following either.

One person wrote: ""Did Tasha just slip up "Everyone was amazing tonight"... you mean last night, right? #StrictlyComeDancing #strictly."

Someone else commented: "Tasha slipping up and saying tonight #strictly."

Another fan said: "Tasha: "Everyone was so good tonight" #Strictly Producers thinking they are still getting away with the Live Results show bit; #StrictlyComeDancing."

While someone else joked: "The 20 year illusion comes crashing down as hurricane tasha says “everyone was great TONIGHT” #Strictly@reploverlore added: "Tasha said tonight #Strictly."

Although Tasha is progressing in the competition, it was the end of the road for Shayne Ward who became the latest person to leave the BBC show.

Speaking about his time on the show, he said: "I just want to say, you guys up there [the other contestants in the Clauditorium] are a dream. Every single day, coming in here and seeing you guys you helped me so much. I want to say thank you to the audience as well, for always being amazing for us all. This has been, honestly, one of the best things I've ever done."

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:45pm
