During his appearance on The One Show, Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton du Beke hinted at a possible departure, stating "I feel like I could go", prompting host Vernon Kay to insist "You have to stay".

Anton was on the iconic BBC show's sofa discussing his new book and upcoming tour, as well as the forthcoming series of the popular dance competition.

However, as the interview drew to a close, Anton suggested he might leave. Wrapping up the segment, Alex Jones announced: "Well, Anton's book is out next Thursday, and tickets for his tour, Showman are on sale now."

"Thank you very much," responded Anton, with Vernon adding: "It has been a pleasure, my friend," reports the Express.

"That was marvellous, I feel like I could go but I want to stay because I want to hear about you too," Anton told the other guests.

"You have to stay," Vernon insisted, "You're not going anywhere."

Alex chimed in: "You are staying," as her co-star echoed: "Stay there."

Before this exchange, the Strictly judge had enthusiastically discussed his new book and tour.

He revealed: "So I've always wanted to write a sort of a spy novel, and I thought when I started writing novels, they were going to be spy novels, and then I got nominated for a romantic novel of the year, and realised they weren't quite as spy-ie as I thought."

Detailing the plot of his latest book, the professional dancer continued: "But there's more of that in this, although the relationship remains the same and Nancy's had a baby while Roman was away.

"She was pregnant obviously when he left, and when he came back, she had the baby, so he's gonna be introduced to his new family.

"But also, there's this big dance at the Albert Hall, somewhere I've danced many times before for the King, and the King was hugely important, obviously, at that period of time.

"And of course, we have a new King now, and it seemed a wonderful synergy. So I've danced a few times for the Royal Family, never for a King, and I thought, well, Raymond could dance for the King at my favorite place, the Royal Albert Hall."

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
