BBC Strictly fans fear for Wynne Evans as he 'goes missing' from live show after admission

BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left puzzled during the show's Halloween special, as Wynne Evans and Katya Jones seemed to be noticeably absent from screens for a significant portion of the programme.

The 52-year-old was briefly spotted in a devil costume alongside Katya in a matching outfit when hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman introduced the couples and judges at the beginning of the show.

However, the duo then appeared to vanish for over half an hour, failing to join Claudia Winkleman and their fellow contestants on the elevated platform. This did not go unnoticed by observant viewers at home, with one taking to social media to ask: "Where's Katya and Wynne?"

Another viewer queried: "Is Wynne not allowed to be with Claudia and the other contestants at the top of the stairs? Have not seen him there all show."

A third fan asked: "Are they deliberately keeping Wynne and Katya away from the cameras."

Wynne and Katya eventually made an appearance for their Salsa, scoring 31 points, before disappearing once more. Despite fans not spotting him, the BBC assured The Sun that Wynne was present in the 'Clauditorium', reports Birmingham Live.

The pair reappeared in the background of a shot at approximately 7:40pm as Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu chatted with Claudia.

Following their energetic performance, Wynne pleaded with Tess Daly to "crack on without me" as he struggled to catch his breath.

When it came to the judges' feedback, Craig Revel Horwood said the dance "was a little bit too wide" and his hips "lacked fluidity from move to move" but "I love, love, loved those lifts".

He added: "You are a born entertainer." Motsi Mabuse went on to say: "If today was Christmas and they asked what I wanted for Christmas, 'I'd say, 'Wynne dancing every morning', you are my sunshine. I adore you on the dancefloor."

Shirley Ballas echoed Motsi's praise before sharing some advice on how he can improve his posture when dancing.

When speaking about his performance, Wynne told Claudia how he struggled in training with the lifts in the dance routine.

"My back had gone, my shoulders had gone, I felt like some kind of powerlifter," he said before adding: "Well worth it though, amazing."

Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 7.20pm on BBC One.
