Strictly's Amy Dowden breaks down live on Lorraine as she admits 'I'm heartbroken'

by · Wales Online

Amy Dowden broke down in tears live on Lorraine after the talk turned to her celebrating marking one year of being cancer-free this coming Saturday.

The brave 34-year-old professional dancer appeared on ITV's Lorraine, talking about her time on Strictly Come Dancing coming to an end after she'd suffered a painful foot injury and was ordered by doctors to rest.

Lorraine sympathised that Amy had been through the mill over the past few years, after her cancer diagnosis and going on to ring the chemo bell, all while she battled Crohn's disease. In response to her probe, the champion dancer said: "I'm heartbroken, I am going to do my best not to cry."

Speaking on her Strictly departure, she said: "I'm gutted it's ended this way," as Lorraine offered up some kind words, telling her: "I can see you're upset, but you've not let anybody down. We know you've had cancer, you've been so brave and all while battling Crohn's, and you just deal with it, and now you've had this."
