Strictly Come Dancing fans amused as Carlos Gu impersonates Claudia Winkleman during Halloween Week

Strictly Come Dancing has embraced Halloween, bringing an eerie air to week six of the contest.

While everyone was getting into the spooky spirit this weekend, BBC viewers somewhat sidetracked by Carlos Gus appearance.

Chris McCausland alongside Diane Buswell were the pioneering pair to grace the stage this week, performing a chilling Samba to 'Stayin Alive' by The Bee Gees.

Post-performance, amidst judges' critiques, they ascended to speak with host Claudia Winkleman in the studio.

As the pair recapped their performance and anticipated the judges' scores, pro dancer Carlos caused viewers to look twice when he popped up on-screen, sporting an outfit identical to Claudia's.

The 31-year-old dance professional donned a black wig that emulated Claudia's signature hairdo, paired with a black jacket and leopard print pants, which had viewers at first glance mistaking him for the host.

Social media was abuzz with reactions, as one bemused Strictly fan enquired: "Who's that other "Claudia"? #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly."

Another took to Twitter expressing, "Carlos dressed as Claudia is amazing! #Strictly" while yet another posted simply: "Carlos", accompanied by a laughter emoji.

"Oh it's Carlos, I thought it was Karen! #Strictly #DoubleClaude", blurted out one more viewer.

And another joined in: "There's two Claudia's I had to take two #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."

Currently, 11 celebrity couples are still in the running for the coveted Glitterball trophy.

TV's Dr Punam Krishan and her professional dance partner Gorka Marquez are tipped by bookmakers to be the next pair to exit the show this week.

Despite finishing second from bottom on the judges' leaderboard last Sunday, they managed to secure enough viewer votes to avoid the dreaded dance-off.

Olympian Sam Quek and her partner Nikita Kuzmin could also face the dance-off, as their odds of elimination have been cut dramatically from 33/1 to 7/2.

Last week saw JLS star JB Gill and Amy Dowden compete in the dance-off against Paul Merson and professional dancer Karen Hauer.

This Halloween, they performed a Foxtrot to Toploader's Dancing In The Moonlight, while Chris McCausland and his partner Dianne Buswell are currently the favourites to win.

Strictly Come Dancing continues every Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
