The Weeknd’s ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ Film With Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan Lands at Lionsgate
by Katcy Stephan · VarietyThe Weeknd‘s upcoming film “Hurry Up Tomorrow” will get worldwide theatrical distribution from Lionsgate. The musically-driven psychological thriller which stars Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan is directed by Trey Edward Shults (“Waves”).
The film is produced by Tesfaye’s Manic Phase and Reza Fahim along with the late Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss. It is executive produced by Ortega, Shults, Michael Rapino, Ryan Kroft, Wassim “Sal” Slaiby and Harrison Huffman.
The film is an extension of the Weeknd’s upcoming album of the same title (release date forthcoming), which stands alongside the film’s score by the Weeknd and Daniel Lopatin.

“Hurry Up Tomorrow” is the culmination of the Weeknd’s trilogy of studio albums, following the hits “Dawn FM” (2022) and “After Hours” (2020). This third album in the trilogy serves as the final chapter crafted with existential and self-referential themes.
The Weeknd, who has sold more than 75 million records, co-created and starred in the 2023 series “The Idol” alongside Lily-Rose Depp.
