‘Pictionary’ TV Show, Based on Mattel Game, Heading to U.K. Hosted by Mel Giedroyc

“Pictionary” is set to debut at the end of this year on public service broadcaster ITV with a Christmas special followed by a season of 24 episodes.
The show, which has already been adapted for the U.S. where it’s in its third season, see two teams battle it out as they sketch out words or phrases from specific categories.
It will be hosted by former “Great British Bake-Off” presenter Mel Giedroyc, who will be joined by two celebrity team captains each leading a team of contestants trying to guess the picture.

The U.S. version is hosted by Jerry O’Connnell.
Whisper North, who produce U.K. adaptations of “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” will produce “Pictionary” in the U.K.
ITV’s director of entertainment Katie Rawcliffe and assistant commissioner Leanne Clarke commissioned the show. Whisper North’s Kerri Reid and Tom McLennan will exec produce. Laura Burrell, VP for international formats at Paramount Global Content Distribution brokered the deal.
