John Krasinski Named People’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive

The news was announced Tuesday night on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
“Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” Krasinski told People about his reaction when he learned he would be this year’s honoree. “Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.”
According to Krasinski, his wife Emily Blunt was “very excited” when she heard the news. “There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her,” he told People.

Krasinski is known for playing Jim Halpert on the U.S. version of the mockumentary sitcom “The Office” and the titular CIA analyst on the Prime Video series “Jack Ryan.” He also directed, co-wrote and starred in 2018’s “A Quiet Place” and its 2020 sequel.
This year, Krasinski starred in, wrote, produced and directed “IF,” a fantasy comedy film that follows neighbors Cal and Bea (Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming), who can see other people’s imaginary friends. He also served as a producer on the apocalyptic horror film “A Quiet Place: Day One,” starring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn.
People’s Sexiest Man Alive feature has been an annual event for the magazine since the award’s inception in 1985 with inaugural winner Mel Gibson. Last year’s honoree was Patrick Dempsey, while other recent winners include Chris Evans, Michael B. Jordan, Paul Rudd, John Legend and Idris Elba.
People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue, featuring an interview with Krasinski, hits newsstands Friday.
