Is a Beth and Rip ‘Yellowstone’ Spin-off Happening?
Will Yellowstone get a sixth season?
· CosmopolitanThe wait is finally over for Yellowstone fans! After two years of dragged-out anticipation, the second part of season 5 is here. While fans aren't exactly thrilled about Kevin Costner's departure from the show there's still a lot fans are looking forward to, including what comes next for fan favorites Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly). Warning: spoilers ahead.
We saw Beth—John Dutton's (Kevin Costner) only daughter—and loyal Yellowstone ranch hand Rip as their relationship developed and their love grew throughout the seasons. The married couple have become the heart of the show's success. That's why it was so devastating to see the two part ways by the end of season 5 part 1, due to Rip needing to move a herd of cattle to Texas. Things become even more challenging in season 5 part 2, with the distance and Beth taking on more responsibilities on the ranch after her father's death.
Paramount Network announced that season 5 would be the final season of the original Yellowstone series, so fans are wondering what's next for the couple we've all grown to love and deeply invest in. It can't possibly end here, right?
The official word is no, there won't be another season. In May 2023, Paramount Network made a big announcement saying, “Yellowstone is officially coming to an end, with the final episodes of the megahit Paramount Network series’ fifth season set to launch in November. In addition, an untitled sequel series has been ordered and will debut on Paramount Network in December.”
Of course, the premiere of the fifth season—as we all know—has been pushed back a year, and the two spinoff sequels have yet to premiere. So there is hope yet! Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but there's definitely a chance that we're going to get more Yellowstone.

Are we getting a Beth and Rip spinoff?
Aside from prequel 1944 and contemporary The Madison (which is set to star Michelle Pfeiffer!), no other announcements have been made for another Yellowstone spinoff. So, in short, we don't know. But when asked whether she would be willing to reprise her role as Beth in a spinoff, Reilly replied to CBS with an enthusiastic, "Yes, please."
Hauser also told The Hollywood Reporter, “You can go on forever about these two. There’s no walls when it comes to them, no limits. As long as Taylor [Sheridan] wants to write something special, I know Kelly and I would be interested to do it.”
Crossing our fingers that Yellowstone co-creator and writer Taylor Sheridan listens to the actors', and the audience's, plea.
When would the Yellowstone Beth and Rip spinoff premiere?
Again, we're not to sure this is happening. And based on the two leads actors' recent statements, nothing is in the works for now. So if anything were to come of Beth and Rip's story, we should expect a lengthy wait of about another year or two—especially since the confirmed spinoffs 1944 and The Madison have yet to premiere.
