Tina Fey Just Presented Avantika With a 2024 Club Cosmo Award

Avantika is an icon. She's not only an actor with range (see: Mean Girls, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Tarot), but she also speaks four languages (!) and is studying cultural anthropology at Columbia University. This past year, the 19-year-old made waves in several spaces—which is why she's being recognized in the inaugural class of Club Cosmo honorees. Cosmopolitan teamed up with UTA Next Gen and ZCON to highlight the trailblazing brands, creators, and trends that are taking over.

On October 24, Cosmo and UTA Next Gen hosted an IRL award ceremony at Brooklyn's Refinery Rooftop at Domino, where the honorees showed up and showed out. And Avantika accepted her honor from none other than comedy icon, Tina Fey.

Naturally, Tina presented Avantika with her Club Cosmo Award in a clip (above!) that she pre-recorded in the bathroom of a camper on a TV set, which she playfully described as peak "glamour."

"I am here to congratulate my friend Avantika on being named one of 10 creators on the Club Cosmo list for 2024 who are shaping Gen Z culture. Today, I tried to get into Club Cosmo, but I was asked to go and sit in the mom area which was out back by the recycling. It was still lit though," Tina began in her intro, throwing in the punchlines she's best known for. "Anyway, if you don't know Avantika, she is more than just so beautiful, it's rude. She is a brilliant woman. She speaks, I think four languages, which is four more than most people."

Tina then acknowledged Avantika's knockout performance as Karen in the Mean Girls musical movie that premiered earlier this year, adding, "They say that it takes a smart actor to play a dumb character...and that is why Avantika was a brilliant Karen in Mean Girls. She's also incredibly hard-working and kind and a joy to be around. Avantika, if you are going to shape Gen Z in your image, I am all for it. Congratulations on this honor. You deserve it."

The SNL alumna closed out her sweet shoutout with a message for the upcoming generation of changemakers, saying, "I'm sending you and Gen Z so much love from me and all of Gen X. We love you guys. You can have all our old jeans."

Avantika is one of 10 Club Cosmo honorees in the Creator category, joining the ranks with stars like Plastique Tiara, Kylie Cantrall, and Ruel.
