Michelle Visage says having sex with other men makes marriage with husband stronger

RuPaul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage has been married to her husband David Case for 28 years but the TV star has now opened up about their relationship and said they live 'openly'

Drag icon Michelle Visage, who has been married for 28 years, has recently spilled the beans on her open relationship with her husband.

The judge of RuPaul's Drag Race, 56, admitted that she and her spouse David Case maintain complete transparency in their relationship, asserting that their openness fortifies their bond.

While appearing on the Origins With Cush Jumbo podcast, 56 year old Michelle Visage narrated how she encountered her present husband. She revealed: "So when I met David, I was 26. I got married at 27. Still young."

She went on: "We've been together for 28 years now and I met him in New York City in Central Park and I had just gotten out of a relationship that was like the love of my life and he destroyed me. After that, I had a summer of debauchery and then I met David in Central Park and he was so opposite. He was very much like Michael, my ex fiancé."

"We live openly, so he would get off knowing that I was so happy and no matter what it is that I do, and I'm not just talking sexually. Whatever it is, I don't know if I have compersion in me to be really excited if he's doing something with another woman but I know that it exists and he is 100% that," she revealed.

Often considered as the antithesis of jealousy, compersion is the concept of experiencing joy and happiness from others' experiences. "The full transparency of the way we live our lives. Completely and, by the way, sometimes it's not even necessary," the star explained. "It's just, meaning, we don't do anything. It's just the ability to be able to. [...] And that's what works for us."

The much-loved star, who was born as Michelle Shupack in New Jersey, encountered her future husband while she was a member of the girl band Seduction. David, a prosperous screenwriter hailing from Los Angeles, was embarking on his acting career when he was introduced to Michelle at a showbiz bash.

The couple, who wed in 1997, currently live in California with their two children Lillie and Lola. In a snap shared on social media to celebrate their anniversary, Michelle could be seen beaming for the camera alongside her handsome hubby as they posed in a rare selfie together.

Sharing the image with her two million followers on Instagram, Michelle captioned the anniversary photograph as she described the couple as being "unstoppable" after nearly three decades of marriage together. The TV star wrote: "26 years!!! Love, kindness, patience, understanding, forgiveness, consciousness, teamwork, the list goes on and on.... Forever my love, we are unstoppable. @jaxspenser HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!"

David often prefers to stay out of the limelight letting Michelle take centre stage but he still shows his support for his wife with regular tweets and social media posts cheering her on from the sidelines. On his own Instagram account in June last year, David shared the same loved up image as he wrote: "26 years to this wonderful young beautiful, intelligent, funny lady! You keep me happy and in love every single day and I can't imagine a moment of life without you. Love you deeply and forever... Happy Anniversary, @michellevisage".
