Liam Payne shared a few glimpses into his life in the weeks before his heartbreaking death aged 31.

The former One Direction singer was on holiday in Buenos Aires with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy when he fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in the trendy Palermo neighbourhood. City ambulance service provider spokesman Alberto Crescenti said he had fallen around 40 metres and suffered “severe injuries which were incompatible with life.”

Media in Argentina reported Liam was previously in Buenos Aires to attend the concert of his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan. Payne had been documenting his travels across the South American country, including seeing his former bandmate. He recently attended one of Niall's concerts and shared videos on social media.

At the beginning of the month, Liam told fans he was travelling to Argentina where Niall was on tour. In the video, Liam disclosed his three reasons for the trip, with one relating to Niall. "We're going to Argentina to see Nialler," he captioned the footage. Cosied up in bed, he elaborated: "We're going to Argentina. One, because we have to, and two, because we want to, and three, because Niall Horan's playing down there and I think we might just go and say 'hello'."

Liam then confessed it's been some time since he last spoke with Niall, adding: "It's been a while since me and Niall have spoken. We've got a lot to talk about and I would like to square up a couple things with the boy. No bad vibes or nothing like that, but just, we need to talk."

When he attended the concert at Movistar Arena, he shared clips from the concert with fans on Snapchat and even stopped to pose with many of them. He delighted followers when he shared a selfie with the singer. Niall performed in Buenos Aires on 2 October before going to Santiago, Lima and then Bogota.

Over the past several months, Liam had been travelling around the world while hinting to fans that he had been working on new music. His last release, Teardrops, failed to chart, but it was expected that it would be in a new album. Months before, Liam celebrated his 31st birthday and shared a rare update of his son Bear, seven.

He said his son was the spitting image of him and explained he would be spending some time with him soon. He said in the video from August: "I didn't get any dad socks yet thought. I'm going to speak to my son in a little bit which I'm really excited about. Bless him. He's getting so big now. He's a big boy and he looks like a mini me. As if we needed any more me in the world."
