Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce-inspired film will 'make for interesting viewing'

The romance of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, described as "America's very own royal couple", is believed to share parallels with the plot of Christmas In The Spotlight

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance has inspired a new Christmas romcom, according to reports.

Christmas In The Spotlight tells the story of a pop superstar falling in love with a sportsman, just like how Taylor and Travis started dating in 2023. Now, they've been described as "America's very own royal couple".

But it is understood Taylor, 34, hasn’t been sent a screener – which means she’ll have to watch her fictional love story play out on screen at the same time as everyone else.

An insider said: "She hasn’t been sent a screener so it’ll make for interesting viewing for her, depending on how they play out their love story on film... Taylor has been so busy on her Eras world tour but she is aware of the film."

The couple don't star in the film, which instead sees Laith Wallschleger and British actress Jessica Lord reprise the lead couple whose, according to IMDB, "budding romance faces intense public scrutiny".

And Tay and Travis’ relationship has played out in the public eye ever since they were first pictured together last September at an American football game. The insider told The Sun: "Taylor loves a tacky Christmas flick but whether she’ll like this one is another thing."

Travis, 35, has gushed about the singer at every given opportunity since the picture was taken at the sports game. During the summer, Taylor got Travis up on stage for a skit at one of her Wembley gigs.

After Tay returned from Europe in August, the smitten couple spent an extended period together, with the singer taking a break from performing until October. Swift is now set to perform across the United States and Canada for the next six weeks, before finally wrapping up her Eras tour.

Christmas In The Spotlight's plot may too have its ups and downs but it gives Jessica Lord, 26, her first lead role in a film. The actress, born in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, was in teen sci-fi drama Find Me in Paris for two years between 2018 and 2020.

But she has faced challenges with her own lovelife, having separated with American comedian Matt Rife in March, following a short relationship.
