Dancing On Ice star confirms return to day job weeks ahead of new series for ITV show
The seventeenth series of Dancing On Ice is only weeks away with the line-up including an array of familiar faces. However, one of them has already signed for another project.
by Laura Carreno · The MirrorChelsee Healey is due to slip her ice skates on in the upcoming season of Dancing On Ice - but she has just confirmed her return to the set of Hollyoaks, weeks after signing up for the ITV show.
The Goldie McQueen actress, who first appeared on the Channel 4 soap in 2016, is one of the many stars to have joined the 2025 Dancing On Ice line-up. Shortly after signing, Chelsee Healey claimed she was "ready" and "good to go", just as she was revealed to team up with professional skater Andy Buchanan.
But ahead of the programme's return to our screens, following Ryan Thomas' triumph last year, Chelsee has made it clear that the programme won't be her only TV gig for the new year as she will also return to Hollyoaks.
However, her work on the Chester-based soap opera will not be interfering with her Dancing On Ice stint as Chelsee explained that she would first focus on winning the ice skating competition before reprising the role of Goldie.
Taking to Instagram alongside her future Dancing On Ice partner, the actress shared a selfie from the new Casa McQueen, Warren Fox's Spanish tapas restaurant, built to replace the late Marnie's Salon de Thé. "I’m skating straight back home after Dancing on Ice and I’m coming back to Hollyoaks", she informed.
The message was also relayed on Hollyoaks' official Instagram account and the caption read: "ou may have seen our wonderful @chelseehealey is going to be on #DancingOnIce! But you heard it here first… Goldie WILL be back in the #Hollyoaks village! Good luck, Chelsee!"
In a post added on to her feed for her 605k followers to see, Chelsee also uploaded a video of her training session with Andy, penning: "Guys I’ve been partnered with the incredible @andybuchanan2 I Asked for somebody with a lot of patience and That He Has! i’m really in the best hands here and I’m sorry Andeh you have your hands full! Feeling so excited to start this journey with the best partner ! Let’s Go Team."
Chelsee sparked concern among Hollyoaks fans in January, 2024, when she left soapland for her maternity leave. On screens, fans of the long-running show waved her goodbye as her alter ego Goldie left the eponymous village with Myra McQueen, played by Nicole Barber-Lane.
Weeks before her on-screen exit, in December, 2023, Chelsee had announced the birth of her second child, a daughter named Cookie Al Rainford. Sharing a snap of her new bundle of joy during the Christmas period, Chelsee concealed her baby's face with a love heart emoji and captioned the sweet shot of her child laying in her crib: "Cookie Al Rainford. 22.12.2023. 6lb." The image included baby Cookie in a crib surrounded by balloons, which said "welcome baby girl".
