TV presenter Kaye Adams has given a rare glimpse inside her home life with a devastating confession.

The Loose Woman host spoke about the parental challenges of 'empty nest syndrome'. The 61-year-old's youngest child has embarked on the next stage of her life and left home to attend Edinburgh University. This has had a huge impact on her home and she is struggling to cope as a second child leaves the nest.

Kaye remarked: "Bonnie has gone off to Edinburgh University - she won't thank me for saying that, Charly is now working so she's away as well. Second one out the house is tough, I have to say I am finding it difficult. The place is too tidy, we've got too much milk in the fridge - I don't know how we're going to stop the milk order." The Daily Record reports she is now finding the empty home emotionally difficult.

She said: "I'm finding it terrible, I'm finding it hard." After being questioned about her partner Ian's handling of the empty nest, she revealed his idea to cope. She added: "He suggested that we go to cooking classes together! I actually looked at him and thought: 'Who are you?!' Bless him, he's trying really hard!".

Adams also recounted the family's nostalgic 'last dinner' before her youngest daughter started university, saying: "We had our 'last dinner' on Saturday night, Charly my eldest daughter came as well." "Bonnie was under the table on her phone the whole time arranging to go out to a club after the last dinner was out the way, thank you very much." The Mirror also reported she reflected on the evening and said: "For a second, I was annoyed, I thought you could at least try. I was trying to have an emotional last night with her and the family but then I thought: 'Look, I'm going to get you an Uber, you just go now.'."

"Because it's a new life, they've got to go and have this new life. She said: 'Are you sure mum?' and I said: 'Off you go' and off she went, it was horrible!". Adams fellow presenter Coleen Nolan, Coleen Nolan also said she couldn't "stop crying" after revealing her daughter has left her and she has no idea when she's coming back.

During a debate on ITV 's Loose Women about empty nest syndrome, Coleen revealed she's currently suffering over her daughter Ciara, 22, who has decided to go travelling. She told her ITV co-stars Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter and Linda Robson that her daughter has booked a one-way ticket out of the UK.

Coleen, who is also a mum to Shane, 35, and Jake, 31, explained her daughter has been planning this trip for two years with her boyfriend, but the couple have not agreed a return date. She said: “They’ve worked really hard and saved up and I’m so proud of them both and her, but honestly, I just can’t stop crying."
