Emmerdale teases what really happened to Ruby and Caleb's daughter after 'attack'

Emmerdale's Ruby Miligan alluded to a secret involving her mystery daughter Stephanie Miligan on the ITV soap, as she accused her late mother Helen of launching 'an attack'

Viewers tuning into Emmerdale on Monday night saw hints about something having happened with Ruby and Caleb Miligan's mystery daughter Stephanie.

A bombshell saw Ruby find out her estranged mother Helen Fox, who died on the ITV soap recently, had somehow been in contact with Steph. Steph has been AWOL for a while it seems, cutting contact with her parents.

Ruby has made comments about never seeing her mother years on from her being kicked out while pregnant as a teen. It seems she was pregnant with Steph at the time, while there is still much more to be revealed.

It's not known how Helen would have even got into contact with Steph given her and Ruby apparently didn't talk for years, right up until her recent death. So when her will confirmed on Monday that everything had been left to Stephanie, Ruby was in turmoil.

Not only did this confirm Steph and Helen had been in contact at some point, but it also alluded to Helen knowing something that seems to have been kept from viewers. Ruby was in such a state as she mentioned her mum must have known something about Steph, but she didn't specify what this was.

Perhaps she was referring to Steph's existence, but Helen already knew about the pregnancy. Maybe she was referring to the estrangement between Steph and her mum and dad, and maybe that is why Helen asked Caleb about Steph days before she died.

It's not clear but there is definitely something not yet revealed about their daughter, and also why she and Helen were in touch. Why has Helen left her everything in her will, amid Ruby seeing it as an 'attack'?

As the contents of the will were revealed Ruby was visibly stunned and horrified. Caleb asked what was wrong and Ruby said: "It's not a shock it's not... I don't get it. Does this mean they were meeting behind my back?"

As the solicitor asked if Steph was their eldest child, Ruby said: "I did everything to keep them apart. I didn't want any of my mum's poison rubbing off on her. It's all gone to Steph.

"She left her everything. I don't understand, how long did she know? She wanted me to hold the estate in trust, pay all the bills and make sure everything else goes to Stephanie."

Ruby, shaking, went on: "She must have wanted to make sure I knew she knew." As Caleb asked: "About what?" she replied: "About Steph, but why? What is this some kind of weird apology? Her way of saying sorry? Or some kind of attack beyond the grave?" So what did happen with Steph and what are they hiding?
