Kate Middleton fans gobsmacked as they spot her celebrity doppleganger - it's impossible to ignore
As the future Queen, Princess Kate is one of the most recognisable women on the planet, but a few years back royal fans spotted that she has something of a celebrity doppelganger
by Emma Mackenzie · The MirrorSince Princess Kate attended the University of St. Andrews as an undergraduate - where her romance with Prince William began - she has become one of the most well-known people in the UK.
During the many years the pair dated before they finally settled down and announced their engagement in 2010, Kate was regularly photographed as she went out and about in London with William, or her younger sister Pippa - with royal fans seriously interested in what the woman who had captured the future King's attention was getting up to.
When Kate officially joined the Royal Family upon her marriage to William in 2011, the interest in her only intensified, and after their fairy-tale royal wedding was broadcast across the world - Westminster Abbey estimates one billion people watched it - she became one of the most instantly recognisable people on the planet.
With such a high profile, comparisons are regularly made between Kate and other public figures, but Kate also has one little-known celebrity doppelganger that has been noted by royal fans - and it's not the actress who played her in The Crown. Royal fans spotted the similarity a few years ago - per Hello magazine - when comedian Keith Lemon posted a snap of his wife Jill Carter, a beauty therapist who he has been married to for 22 years now.
The TV personality - whose real name is Leigh Francis - posted a tribute to his spouse to mark Valentine's Day in 2019, and she certainly bears a resemblance to the future Queen. Jill is pictured looking down, whilst her brunette curls - very similar to Kate's - framed her face. "Appy Valentine's Day beautiful lady," he jokingly wrote in the caption. "I would finish with my super hot French girlfriend for a bit of hang time with you. Whoever you are. DM me! I'm Keith Lemon from the telly x."
Beneath the post social media post royal fans were reportedly quick to notice just how similar the comedian's wife looks to Kate, with one writing: "Prince William might be jealous," and another commenting: "I thought it was Kate Middleton."
The host of Celebrity Juice married Jill back in 2002, at Allerton Castle, North Yorkshire, and the pair have two daughters, Matilda and Dolly. The TV presenter spends most of his time in the public eye acting as Keith Lemon, his alter ego and keeps most of his personal life with Jill under wraps, but it is reported that the couple has been together since they were teenagers.
