A mum of four who vowed to make her kids’ dreams come true after learning she had terminal breast cancer has been told she has just three months to live.

Ashleigh Ellerton, 29, was told in 2022 she would be lucky to live three years.

Specialists have now warned her that the cancer has spread to her brain, and told Ashleigh to get her affairs in order.

As she comes to terms with the diagnosis, she and husband Simon returned with their children to the venue of one of their dream dates – watching Liverpool play at Anfield.

The club gave her tickets to see the team face Chelsea last Sunday, after learning of her latest news.

Children Bella 11, Rory 10, Brody, nine, and five-year-old Luca have been made aware they face a future without their mum.

Ashleigh said: “Simon has supported Liverpool all his life. The first live match we saw together was against Leicester at Anfield a couple of years ago. Now all our kids love Liverpool. We took them to a charity match – they’ve not seen the first team yet.”

Ashleigh, of Bridlington, who will now start an experimental drug, said she has made plans for her children’s futures and hopes for one last Christmas.

She said: “I’m leaving my darlings but I know they’ll be loved – it’s a big comfort. We’ve made everlasting memories. Telling the children I won’t be here for much longer was the hardest thing ever.”
