Strictly fans have been left asking why JB Gill couldn't have had a little support when he needed it after standing alone following the worrying news Amy Dowden had worryingly collapsed backstage this weekend.

Just minutes after the pair's energetic performance, professional dancer Amy is understood to have fallen ill. It was confirmed that an ambulance was called for her as a "precaution" and it has since been shared that she's "feeling much better".

The pair had been awarded a score of 32 by the judges for their foxtrot to Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader but soon after, things took a worrying turn. Amy ended up being absent from Sunday night's results show due to the experience but fans had some important questions.

One took to X and posted a photo of an isolated looking JB standing on his own looking down. Another Strictly fan responded: "Surly one of the other pros could have stood with him?" before another added to the conversation, writing: "What would have happened if he ended up in the dance off?"

But Amy, who has been battling cancer for almost two years and also has Crohn's Disease, may be forced to quit the series, an insider has claimed. Another professional could temporarily replace the star if she's ill. A source recently said: "Amy was obviously in huge distress. Everyone around her was equally upset because they felt so helpless.

“JB had to be given a hug. Even the medic who first attended to Amy needed support and consolation. The only thing they could do was try to get her to hospital as quickly and safely as possible," they told The Sun. The Mirror have reached out to ITV and Amy's reps for comment.

Her dance partner JB spoke about Amy, who was absent from the result's show, after it was revealed that they had avoided this week's dance off. Asked by host Claudia Winkleman how happy, on behalf of them both, he was feeling about not being in the bottom two, JB said: "Honestly, I'm beside myself and Amy of course is gonna be so happy that we're through to icons week. It's an amazing feeling."

JB went on to reveal that he'll be performing a medley next week as a couple's choice, including Bruno Mars' song Treasure. He later issued a message to fans on Instagram saying: "On behalf of both @amy_dowden and I, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for voting for us and wishing us well. We absolutely loved our performance on Saturday night and are SO grateful to be through to another week on @bbcstrictly."

A spokesperson for Amy shared: "Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy's privacy in matters of health is kindly respected."
