Ralf Little, known for his role as DI Neville Parker in the BBC's Death In Paradise, has bagged his first acting gig since leaving the show.

The actor's departure from the show left fans heartbroken, with Don Gilet stepping in to fill his shoes. However, Ralf will soon be back on our screens, starring in the dystopian thriller The Flaw, directed by Theophilos Papastylianos in his feature debut.

Currently being filmed in Athens, Ralf will be joined by former Death In Paradise co-star Danny John-Jules, who played Dwayne Myers in the BBC series. The Flaw is based on Antonis Samarakis' 1965 novel and follows a ruthless Interrogator (David Dawson) tasked by the Special Service to prove a Suspect (Arthur McBain) guilty.

Ralf's exit from Death In Paradise was confirmed earlier this year, and he confessed that he didn't want to leave.

"This last series was always going to be my last series, I had talks with the BBC, and with Red Planet, the production company and we all agreed that it just felt... if it was in my heart, like if it was just a heart decision, I'd have wanted to do it for 20 more years," he said.

"But just for the show, and... for my character Neville, it just sort of felt like his story... it deserved to be sort of finished and his sort of journey... sort of deserved to be completed and he deserved a nice happy ending and so it just felt right."

Don Gilet will now replace Ralf's character, as new DI Mervin Wilson.

Don said: "Being offered the new lead role in Death in Paradise feels like a deeply loved and incredibly precious jewel has been placed in my hands. This is a big show, with a big heart and the love continually grows for it.

"It is my intention to never lose sight of that and to remain grateful, humbled and dedicated. Even during those testing times when every sinew is screaming at me to run off the set and dive into the sea, swimming pool or an ice-cold beer whichever happens to be closer at the time!"
