Big Brother fans have slammed show bosses after they cut out the scene where a housemate grabbed Lilly by the neck.

The scene was aired on the live feed of the ITV show on Wednesday night. But by the time the edited episode aired the following evening, it was nowhere to be seen. Lily was spotted sticking her fingers up at Marcello as she walked past him. And it was at this point that he took her by the wrist with one hand and placed his other hand around her neck, for a brief moment.

Lily then pulled her head away from him as he then put his arm around her before she shrugged him off and walked away. Insiders old The Sun that Marcello was spoken to by Big Brother. A source said: "The moment was spotted by fans during the live stream but didn't make the next day's 60-minute episode. However, Marcello was reminded of Big Brother's expectation for appropriate behaviour and language while in the house."

But fans who witnessed the moment shared it online. It was only after it did not make it on to the hour-long show, the following day, it gathered momentum. Fans were left fuming and threatened to complain to Ofcom about what they had seen. Some also called for Marcello to be removed from the house.

Taking to X, one person raged: "if Marcello doesn’t go you will have a lot more ofcom complaints. This is unacceptable. Regardless if he and Lily were having a bit of fun a man SHOULD NOT put his hand around a woman’s neck!! You need to answer for this!"

Another person added: "I can't believe they didn't show Marcello grabbing Lily's neck!! WTF?! Now only those of us who watched the live stream and who are on BB Twitter will know about it. Yet another massively disappointing thing from ITV." A third person wrote: "Marcello is dangerous. Big Brother didn’t want to show us, but Marcello put his hand to Lily’s neck last night and the only thing that stopped him was the cameras."

A fourth penned: "Time to see how they handle what Marcello did to Lily on the live stream last night, if they ignore it or we see AJ defend him then it's an utter joke because there was no way Marcello putting his hand on Lily's neck was a joke and she looked uncomfortable."

Meanwhile a fifth commented: "This video shows exactly the kind of pig Marcello is! No excuse for grabbing a woman’s neck, "fun" or not. Disgusting behaviour that shouldn’t be tolerated." This is not the first time Marcello has come under fire over his behaviour in the house. He was called out for making "misogynistic" remarks towards female housemates.

In one show, he was seen telling Sarah she "smelled like period" and asked her if she was menstruating when she was in a bad mood. He was also asked by Ali to stop making sexually graphic comments with housemates. The youth worker had also falsely claimed he and Ali kissed, which led to a string of Ofcom complaints

A spokesman for Big Brother told The Sun: "Housemates receive Respect and Inclusion training and an extensive briefing from the Big Brother Senior team to prepare them for living in the House and to set out Big Brother’s expectation for appropriate behaviour and language."

They added: "Housemates are monitored 24 hours a day and instances of inappropriate behaviour are responded to appropriately when required."

The Mirror has contacted Big Brother for a comment.
