Kate Middleton and Prince William have kept their children from the royal limelight for as long as possible but as they grow up things will have to change.

George will always have to live a separate life from his siblings - Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - being third in line for the throne after his father. However it has been reported that George’s youngest siblings are being encouraged to live a life outside the royal bubble. It appears the parents of the young royals are already shaping the life of the royal family in their attempts to modernise the royal family even before Prince William reaches the throne, details have emerged about the roles their youngest children may or may not be playing in the future of the royal family.

While Prince George is expected to follow in his father’s footsteps and take on royal duties as a future king, it has been hinted that Charlotte and Louis may not follow the same path. In a shift from tradition, it is believed that the younger two children may not become working royals. Instead, they could have the freedom to pursue their interests and careers outside of the royal fold.

According to a source who allegedly worked in Buckingham and Kensington Palace as a staffer, this will be done under “radical plans to reshape the British monarchy when William and Princess Kate ascend the throne. The working assumption is that the younger two children will get on and do their own thing. They will be encouraged to not become working royals,” the insider told The Daily Beast.

Such a change could also allow for more flexibility in family life, potentially enabling Prince Louis to travel with his siblings and their mother, the Princess of Wales, without the pressure of future royal responsibilities. This would give Louis and Charlotte more freedom to explore their personal ambitions while still being part of the royal family.

William and Kate have long been vocal about their desire to provide a sense of normalcy for their children, despite their royal status. This vision of a smaller, more streamlined monarchy aligns with King Charles III’s own goals of a "slimmed-down" royal family. If these plans come to fruition, it would mark a significant shift in how the royal family operates, allowing younger royals more personal freedom than ever before while ensuring that the institution adapts to modern expectations.
