Coronation Street teases sudden return for ITV soap icon - and it's just days away

Coronation Street spoilers have dropped a major hint that an ITV soap favourite could be back on the show next week amid turmoil for one Weatherfield legend

Viewers may see a familiar face on Coronation Street next week with little revealed about the comeback.

Spoilers tease another return for Tracy Barlow after a recent exit, while it's not confirmed what brings her back this time around. There's every chance it will be an offscreen return, or perhaps she will be onscreen but not in Weatherfield.

The new spoilers for next Wednesday's episode tease she is back on the Cobbles though, but there are no spoiler images. Her 'return' is rather abrupt with no mention of her being back, just that she is involved in a storyline with her dad Ken Barlow.

Tracy left earlier this year for a new life abroad with Tommy Orpington. Recently she came back to the show after a fallout with Tommy, before she left again to be with him.

So if Tracy is back already, what's gone on now and could Tommy be with her? Is she back permanently, and has something happened that has led to her coming back again so soon?

We did already know that Tracy would return at some point, with actress Kate Ford reportedly reprising the role full-time after her two stints offscreen this year. But it has not been revealed when she will be back.

These spoilers are the first indication that the comeback is happening and soon. That said there isn't enough in them to confirm a full return, and that she will be back onscreen.

It does seem she will be given what happens to Ken in the episodes, but again nothing is confirmed. The spoiler reveals that Cassie Plummer is dropped as Ken's carer due to money woes, with his family still convinced she's using him for the cash.

But when Ken feels unwell, he tells Cassie he’ll pay her an extra pound an hour if she will be his carer again. It seems Cassie considers it, only for Adam Barlow and Steve McDonald to spill all to Tracy.

It's revealed that Tracy orders Cassie to leave for good, telling her to stop sponging off Ken. With Cassie gone, Tracy is adamant she’ll look after her father, but when he suffers a nosebleed and admits he feels awful they are forced to head to the hospital.

The spoiler heavily hints Tracy is with him so hopefully she is definitely back on screen. The episodes should clear up why she's there and how long for amid a permanent comeback.
