The second season of Fortnite OG is getting a new lick of paint, as Epic Games has revealed via a collection of influencers that the next throwback season will be considered a Remix of the game's iconic second chapter.

It looks like Fortnite can’t go back to the past without at least giving it a little flair at this stage. The game has been having one hell of a season, with Chapter 5 Season 4 introducing a massive Marvel Battle Pass and a remarkable comic book crossover, before launching into perhaps the best Fortnitemares event yet, launching a massive collection of Fortnitemares skins featuring the likes of Lexa Hexbringer and classic Disney Villains Captain Hook, Cruella de Vil and Maleficent. It’s been a blast, but now that we know when the next season will begin, it’s time for a blast from the past.

Players had pointed out when the game's 2024 roadmap leaked for this year that a new Fortnite OG season was waiting for players on the other side of Doom’s dominion, which was cause for celebration after the success of Fortnite OG last year – but now it seems that while we’ll get the throwback we were looking for, there’s one hell of a twist waiting for us when it begins. Here’s everything that’s just been leaked for Fortnite OG Chapter 2 – or should we say, Fortnite Remix Chapter 2.

Fortnite OG gets Remixed

As revealed in a tweet from leaker @ShiinaBR, some creators have started receiving press packs revealing an all-new look for Fortnite OG seasons going forward, rebranding the throwback seasons to Fortnite Remix. The packages have come with a collection of pins sharing a peek at new skins (we’ll get to those, don’t worry) and cassette players loaded with cassettes sharing remixed new tracks for the game, which @ShiinaBR gave us abetter look at in a follow-up tweet.

Here’s everything we can glean from the packages themselves, including new skins (some of which are 'remixed styles') and POIs:

  • Midas and Meowscles Remix skin
  • TNTina Remix skin
  • Tilted Towers as signified by the pin of its clock tower
  • Boogie Bomb, Boom Box and an assortment of classic weapons
  • Rift Butterfly could return in some form
  • Sharks carrying rare items

It’s a lot to process, as Fortnite embraces its new remix approach, but frankly, it’s a great choice for the game to have made. It’s easy to think that Epic Games relies on its nostalgia to bolster Fortnite OG seasons, and though it still certainly will, this is a twist on the formula that helps the game to feel fresh in spite of its return to the “golden age,” if you’ll pardon the pun. It’s about to get wacky on the island for Fortnite Remix – brace yourself.
