Couple celebrate one year anniversary - but not where you'd expect

Luke Isaac and Juliet Brown were both working from home when they caught each other's eye in a Pret A Manger in south London

A love-struck couple marked their first anniversary at the very Pret cafe where their paths crossed while in line for a cup of joe.

Juliet Brown, 27, and her beau Luke Isaac, 28, sparked a connection while waiting for flat white coffees at the Balham branch of the popular chain a year ago.

Luke, who works as an investment consultant, plucked up the courage to chat with Juliet, making small talk about the dreary weather that morning.

Juliet, who was also working from home nearby that day, had planned to grab her hot drink and dash off, but found herself lingering a bit longer.

The pair hit it off, swapped digits, and as they say - the rest is history; it was a case of love at first flat white. Fast forward to today, and the Balham Pret A Manger has been given a romantic makeover for their special evening.

Juliet, who is employed by the British Red Cross, shared: "I have friends and colleagues asking me which Pret we met at in the hopes they might go and have a similar encounter."

"When Pret offered to help us celebrate we both knew there was only one thing for it a Pret-themed anniversary dinner. "It was amazing to surprise Luke at our favourite coffee shop. "

To commemorate this relationship landmark, the cafe was adorned with twinkling fairy lights and fresh blooms, and their coffee was served in personalised cups. They were even presented with a specially commissioned croissant bouquet."

The delighted pair enjoyed a three-course meal that included their favourite dishes - lasagna soup, prosciutto mac and cheese, and aptly, a love bar - a flapjack.

Luke and Juliet are now looking forward to their next big step - moving in together.
