Celebs Go Dating expert Anna Williamson revealed her true feelings about Helen Flanagan's new relationship.

The latest series of the programme saw the likes of Lauryn Goodman, Tristan Phipps, Chris Taylor, Helen, Jamelia and more turn to the experts for help with their love lives. Former Corrie actress Anna appeared on the show to find love but it soon emerged that she was hiding a secret. A few episodes in, and despite going on several dares, she revealed that she actually had a boyfriend waiting for her at home.

It turns out, she has been dating footballer Robbie Talbot since earlier this year and looks to be smitten in their relationship. Before getting into a relationship with Robbie, she was with football star Scott Sinclair - with the two sharing Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three.

While on the red carpet at the 25th Daily Mirror 2024 Pride of Britain Awards, Anna discussed the event and the people she came with. She told the Mirror: "I mean you've got all kinds of people, celebs, wafting around in gowns, but we know it's nothing to do with anybody else other than the amazing people that have just done some incredible things.

"I think more than ever, we need to be celebrating the amazing people that live in this country." She added: "I’ve come with Helen and Robbie so we’re one big Celebs Go Dating happy family." Along with Helen, she's also close to Celebs Go Dating alumni Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson - who became best friends after getting close on the show.

Anna continued: "I mean, being on this carpet tonight is basically one big happy family. I've got Robbie," as she pointed at him. "Robbie's not even a celeb but now he is. It is one of the most warming shows. Honestly, I think to be a part of Celebs Go Dating is such a such a privilege, and it never stops once we start, started Celebs Go Dating, we all remain in touch."

The dating expert also revealed that she always ends up giving advice to celebrities even when they don't appear on the show. The star explained: "I think this is a really interesting industry that I work in, and there seems to be, you know, a lot of trust issues among celebrities in particular, you know, but if anyone asks me, I'm always happy to give it."

Speaking about her ideal Celebs Go Dating contestant, she revealed she'd think Sarah Ferguson would be a 'hilarious' addition to the show and said it would be 'very interesting to see if she’d spill any royal secrets.'

"But to be honest, every year that we do Celebs Go Dating, I'm always amazed by the amazing stars that do come forward and want to be on it," Anna went on. "And, you know, like you just seen Helen, you know, gone past, and Helen came with such an interesting love life. And it got even more interesting … who knew she had a boyfriend? That was real."

Anna insisted the show isn't scripted but joked that one of the main things that's stated in the contract is not to have a boyfriend. "So Helen..." she quipped. "Helen announced she did have a boyfriend halfway through the series, we were like, thanks for that, Helen. No one actually knew that. But we roll. We roll."

There hasn't been a particularly difficult celebrity that the experts have had to deal with over the years, the star insists, but a few became challenges. Referring to Helen, Anna explained: "She was so fresh out of a long term relationship, hadn't been on the dating scene for a long time, that comes with a lot of challenges. So I'd say, No one is difficult. No one. I have never not got it. I've always liked everybody, some more than others, but they're all challenging. Thank you so much, everyone."
