Coronation Street may have ruled out Dee-Dee Bailey as Joel Deering's killer, despite her confession in an upcoming episode.

The character is set to identify herself as Joel's murderer next week, as the guilt becomes too much for her. Devastated Dee-Dee will break down and admit the truth to her father Ed in upcoming scenes according to new spoilers.

She will reveal she was the one who attacked and killed Joel with a crowbar, after a flashback recently showed her tracking him down. The flashback also showed her screaming and crying in the fallout, as she washed blood off of the weapon and from her hands.

Since then she's been acting weirdly, leading to Kit Green suspecting she is the killer. His suspicions may be proven right next week, as Dee-Dee vows to hand herself into the police as she admits her actions and claims to be Joel's killer.

Ed tries to stop his daughter from revealing all, but will he manage to keep her quiet? There's every chance Dee-Dee isn't actually the killer though, given the fact it's been leaked in spoilers and not held back.

Normally a killer reveal remains top secret until the episode airs when it comes to whodunnits. That said the episodes now transmit early on ITVX each morning, so maybe Corrie didn't feel the need to hold the details back.

But what could rule Dee-Dee out is a scene that aired weeks ago. After Joel's body was found in a river, something detective Kit said may have provided more information about how Joel died.

Kit claimed that Joel was attacked with a heavy item like a crowbar, before he was pushed or had fallen into the water. It was confirmed he died prior to hitting the water, meaning he was definitely killed.

What is interesting is that Kit emphasised on the fact Joel sustained two fatal blows to the head, with it almost implied that he was attacked twice. Of course one person could have dealt both blows with the same weapon, resulting in Joel's demise.

But something about the way Kit emphasised on these two hits to the head makes it seem that two people hit him. So does this mean Dee-Dee is innocent, as someone else would have hit Joel too? Unless of course Dee-Dee was this second person!

It comes amid speculation that DS Lisa Swain or her daughter Betsy will be confirmed as the killer. Both characters are tipped to be the person who killed Joel after hints in recent episodes.
