Daisy May Cooper broke down in tears during an episode of Loose Women this week as she talked about the death of her best friend.

The 38-year-old actress appeared on the ITV show to promote her new book "Hexy B***h", in which she recounted her experiences with the supernatural and wrote spooky stories about brushes with unexplained paranormal activity. The book was published on Thursday and is the number one best-seller in the Occult Spiritualism section on Amazon.

But during her discussion with Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Kelly Bryan, and Mariella Frostrup, the 38-year-old also spoke about the death of her late co-star and childhood friend Michael Sleggs, who died in 2019. Michael, who played Slugs in the BBC Three sitcom, had been placed on palliative care due to heart failure. He was only 33 when he passed away.

During her appearance on Loose Women, Daisy said she believes she received a sign from Michael after his passing. She shared: "You know what was so strange, when Michael was dying he was in so much pain, so much agony, he was terrified.

"He phoned me and said, 'You know Daisy, I'm not scared anymore; I had this kind of angelic spirit come to me and said in seven days that I would have a new body. Which means I'm either going to get better or I'm going to pass away - but I will be free of this pain.'"

She added: "He died within seven days, and I think that is extraordinary. There are so many things that you just can't explain." She revealed that before Michael died, he expressed his regret at not being able to attend the Phoenix Festival, which was held near his home, and featured a Guns N' Roses tribute act playing.

The actress waited for a sign from Michael after he had died that he was "doing alright", which came early one Saturday morning. Daisy revealed she was lying in bed at 7am with her partner when she heard a noise. "There was this banging on the bedroom door, and I'm like 'it can't be the cat,' like do they have knuckles?" she joked.

She continued: "We both heard it, and we have cameras on the landing and there was nothing, and it turned out that was the day of the Phoenix Festival." Daisy became emotional as she added: "That's got to be him." The Loose Women panel rushed to comfort her and gave her a tissue as she broke down in tears.

Days before Michael died, he shared a message on Facebook that updated his fans on his condition, as he revealed he was in end-of-life care. "Hi friends, as a lot of you are probably aware I've spent a lot of time in and out of hospital over the past few months," he said.

"This last time it was decided I was reaching the end of options so they've sent me home on palliative care to live out the remainder of my days at home. No specific time limit has been given but deterioration has been fairly rapid. Anyway as you can imagine this isn't the ideal way I wished things to go and my family are dealing with a lot of grief."
