The viral meme is loved by Kim Kardashian and her daughter North

Skibidi Toilet meme has a weirder origin than you think - and North West loves it

The internet is full of strange and wacky viral memes, but the 'Skibidi Toilet' YouTube sensation has intrigued millions of people - including North West and her mum Kim Kardashian

The viral 'Skibidi Toilet' meme is taking over the internet, and even North West is getting in on the fun, gifting her mum Kim Kardashian a $20,000 necklace with the weird saying on.

However, it's left many people baffled as they have no idea what on earth it means. It turns out the strange internet phenomenon all started from a single YouTube short created by animator Alexey Gerasimov.

Gerasimov, whose channel is known as DaFuq!?Boom!, created a rather terrifying looking animation of a cartoon man's head coming out of a grungy toilet bowl while singing.

Kids are finding the 11-second skit hilarious, while parents are panicking over the horrifying animation, and it's certainly not something that would have been created on a child-friendly platform. However, it appears North West and her mum are big fans as North gifted her mum a necklace of the viral meme.

Gerasimov was inspired by the TikTok remix of the song "Dom Dom Yes Yes" by Biser King, specifically the version posted by TikToker Paryss Bryann, and created his own version, which he says was adapted from a 'recurring dream' he kept having. It has now been adapted into more than 70 videos ranging from one to five minutes.

With the catchy song stuck in children's heads, as well as the scary image of a human head inside the stained toilet, Gerasimov created the ultimate viral meme. But it's even left Gen Z baffled, as the next generation, known as Gen Alpha, lead the way with the Skibidi Toilet - including North West.

North revealed her mum also loved the strange meme, and North's birthday gift to Kim is a sweet gesture towards the time the both of them have spent watching the series created by Gerasimov together.

The 11-year-old, who Kim shares with her estranged husband, Kanye West, forked out a fortune for the jewellery piece as experts claim that the engraved gold necklace could range from $15,000 to $20,000. Olivia Landau, CEO of jewellery brand The Clear Cut, has estimated that each diamond on the playful piece weighs between. 08 and. 10 carats.

During an Instagram Live video on Monday, Kim showed off her quirky new piece of jewellery to her fans. North joined Kim in the video as the pair hinted at the meaning behind the engraved words, 'Skibidi Toilet'. With many people confused, it shows Kim and North have bonded well over the videos.
