Sarah Hadland's cheeky response to 'Strictly curse' after wild Vito admission

Despite their on-screen chemistry and a cheeky admission from Sarah Hadland, the actress has quelled rumours that the infamous Strictly Come Dancing curse will affect her and Vito Coppola

Sarah Hadland won't be doing the Tango off-screen, even if she does have the hots for her Strictly partner.

The 53-year-old actress, best known for her role of Stevie in the BBC sitcom Miranda, has had a strong start to the competition - frequently ranking in the top five of the leaderboard. Last week, Sarah and Vito Coppola scored a respectable 32 points for their Samba to Do It Again by Rafaella Carra - with Shriley Ballas branding the duo an 'absolute charm to watch'.

Many viewers even argued the couple deserved a much higher score, with one passionate social media user branding their performance the 'best dance of the night'. "U N D E R M A R K E D," fumed another. Now, the couple will be working hard behind the scenes to perfect their Argentine Tango to Ready Or Not by Fugees for the show's legendary Halloween Week.

While Sarah has been able to avoid elimination or the dreaded dance-off, the celeb has been asked about the 'Strictly curse'. The fan-theory circulates on social media every year, suggesting back-to-back rehearsals and training creates a lustful environment where stars can't help but have affairs. All celebs involved in the Strictly curse have denied being unfaithful.

When asked if she fancies her partner Vito, Sarah candily replied: "What a ridiculous question to ask me. Yes, I fancied him. I'm alive, aren't I? If you're female and have a heartbeat, how could he NOT be anybody's type?"

But Sarah, who is reportedly single, seems unfazed by the so-called curse, stating she doesn't have the 'energy' for an off-screen fling during her attempt to win the Glitterball Trophy. "I'll be honest - I can either do the dance or have an affair, but I can't do both. I'm committed to the dance now," she added.

Despite ruling out a blooming romance, Sarah hasn't been afraid to get up close and personal with Vito for their routines. "The paso doble we're doing this week is very serious and sensual, and when we started learning it I was very, very giggly," she said back in week two. "I kept the eye to camera because there’s a lot of, I’m going to call 'tuppence to thigh'... There's a lot of groin to thigh, and I have to look deep into his eyes - which makes it ten times worse."

Strictly Come Dancing airs every Saturday on BBC One.
