I'm A Celebrity's Alan Halsall and ex-wife Lucy Jo Hudson 'don't speak' after bitter divorce
Coronation Street stars Alan Halsall and Lucy-Jo Hudson were once happily married but now reportedly do not even speak to each other after their explosive 2018 divorce
by Seamus Duff · The MirrorAlan Halsall and Lucy-Jo Hudson are still ice cold towards each following their explosive divorce - with reports suggesting she will be voting for him to endure vile tasks on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Alan, 42, has been an actor on Coronation Street since 1998 but is taking a break from the soap this month to become one of the 2024 contestants on ITV's I'm A Celeb. The Tyrone Dobbs actor was previously married to Lucy-Jo, 41, after they met on the set of the soap in 2002, began dating in 2004, and swapped vows in 2009.
But they later broke up and they have had a bitter relationship as exes in the years since. On Monday, it was confirmed that Alan is one of the 2024 stars of I'm A Celeb and he has already touched down in Australia to take part in the show.
But ex-wife Lucy-Jo is said to be preparing to nominate him for the most vicious trials as they are still not on good terms. It has been reported that the former couple can no longer talk - despite being coparents to their daughter.
A source told The Sun: “Alan and Lucy-Jo still aren’t on speaking terms. If Alan needs anything he goes through her boyfriend Lewis (Devine). They both want what’s best for their daughter Sienna but they won’t communicate. Things are just as bad as when they first fell out." The Mirror has contacted representatives of both stars for comment.
Alan and Lucy-Jo married in 2009 and welcomed their daughter, Sienna-Rae, four years later. The happy couple shocked fans when they initially split in March 2016 - but they soon reconciled and had another roll of the dice on their romance. This did not turn out well, however, and they ultimately split for good in 2018 - and relations between the pair deteriorated very quickly and very publicly thereafter.
Lucy-Jo went public with her relationship with theatre company owner Lewis Devine just weeks after her split with Alan - and the Corrie actor did not react well to the news. He erupted online when Lewis made reference to Sienna-Rae as being part of his family. Alan viciously snapped online: “You’re welcome to keep the lying cheating one & call her your own! But not my daughter.”
Lucy-Jo addressed the outburst, telling OK! Magazine: "I had literally just given birth to Carter when he posted that so I didn’t see it and my head was elsewhere. He quickly deleted it so he must have regretted it. I didn’t bother bringing it up with him. Lew and I were both too focused on Carter so it just didn’t get our attention."
She also revealed that co-parenting with Alan had been a challenge. She told the publication: "The thing is, everybody who has a blended family knows it’s not easy. You can’t pretend that it is. And me and Alan sometimes have different views on raising Sienna so trying to co-parent can be challenging. It’s probably like that for a lot of blended families."
Alan lashed out again over the comments, writing that he had “No regrets” in a social media post. Alan did find love again following his divorce from Lucy-Jo as he fell for Corrie co-star Tisha Merry - but this love proved to be short lived as they split earlier this year.
