Strictly's Tess Daly's eats four simple things to 'slow down ageing'
Tess Daly is loved on our screens as the host of Strictly, and the TV presenter is looking as youthful as ever - it's apparently all down to her strict diet and exercise regime
by Peter Hart, Danny Gutmann · The MirrorTess Daly is turning back the clock with a superfood diet and a strict yoga routine. The much-loved host of Strictly Come Dancing and former model credits her age-defying looks to a disciplined regime that includes avocados, blueberries, nuts, and spinach, reports OK!. A source spilled the beans to Closer Magazine, saying: "'All of Tess' treatments are in addition to going hardcore on her diet and exercise regime - loading up on all the foods proven to help reverse the ageing process like avocados, blueberries, nuts and spinach, as well as upping her yoga workouts to twice daily."
Tess has reflected on the pressures of her modelling past, recounting the inconsistent demands on her body: "I was told so many times, 'you should look this way', then I was told 'you should put weight on'. That's when I realised to take it with a pinch of salt."
Now confidently embracing her 50s, Tess – who was unfairly deemed a 'bird brain' by a BBC colleague – is establishing her own beauty standards and sticks religiously to a skincare routine. She has shared: "I believe in investing in my skin as I do in my general health, looking after what you have got. Over time, my skin felt more radiant, boosted and fresh."
Tess' beauty secrets include Ultratherapy, a non-invasive treatment that focuses on collagen and skin lifting without surgery. An insider revealed Tess's pre-Strictly beauty routine, saying: "Tess has her anti-ageing treatments regularly, especially in the lead-up to the new series of Strictly, which includes laser facials, micro needling and Ultratherapy, as well as Botox and veneers."
Despite health experts advising us to drink plenty of water each day for hydration, Tess confessed she avoids it before her Strictly hosting duties.
In an interview with Elle magazine, the mother of two, married to radio host Vernon Kay, admitted she can't touch a glass of water for two hours before the live Saturday night shows due to lack of bathroom breaks during filming. The only exception was when she was pregnant with her daughters, 20 year old Phoebe and 14 year old Amber, adding: "Oh no, that wouldn't have been possible. I was allowed to go then!".
