Michelle Keegan spills on 'boring' shift in her marriage to Mark Wright

by · Manchester Evening News

Michelle Keegan has opened up about a relatable shift in her marriage to Mark Wright, nine years after they tied the knot at St Mary's Church in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Giving fans an insight into their life away from the cameras, the Fool Me Once actress admitted that their once late-night dates together had now become earlier and "a bit more boring".

The 37-year-old shared: "I'm happy to have a night on the sofa with our dogs watching TV and relaxing.

"But we do still like to get dressed up and go out for dinner," she added to Closer Magazine.

"In the old days, we'd go out for dinner and drinks until the early hours.

"But now, after dinner, I'll look at my watch and say, 'It's 9:30pm, we'd better get back home for bedtime! It's a bit more boring now!’"

It's no surprise that the couple enjoy quieter nights indoors - given the stunning mansion they reside in.

The couple are the owners of a £3.5million Essex mansion, which features five bedrooms, a state-of-the-art gym, a sauna, an outdoor pool as well as a cinema room.

Mark and Michelle began giving fans an insight into their home renovation on an Instagram page dedicated to the process, back in 2021.

Following the completion of their project in August 2023, they threw a 'Marchella' housewarming party to celebrate with their loved ones.

The ex Coronation Street actress previously burst into tears when discussing their dream home finally being built, after being away in Australia during some of the process.

She told The Guardian: "It still gets me emotional. Because we’ve worked really hard for it. We’ve had to make a lot of sacrifices.

"I missed lots of milestones in my life due to work. Mark went to LA and we spent months apart, which was hard. But, it’s worth it."

Michelle went on to say that the house was also "about security" as "you never know when all this is going to end".

The couple first met behind-the-scenes on the X Factor before subsequently bumping into each other at numerous other events after.

A year later, the former TOWIE star asked Michelle out on a date which led to things becoming official in 2012.

Mark popped the question to Michelle the following year during a romantic holiday in Dubai and they went on to marry in 2015.
