by Katie Palmer · Manchester Evening NewsThe chilling true crime drama, Until I Kill You, has been broadcast on ITV, recounting the tale of Delia Balmer (portrayed by Anna Maxwell-Martin) who survived an assault by her axe-murderer boyfriend, John Sweeney (played by Shaun Evans).
Following Sweeney's incarceration, Delia relocated to a new home where she encountered David, a local taxi driver.
David was instantly smitten with Delia and extended an invitation for dinner at his place, which Delia accepted.
Despite their initial rapport, with David even purchasing a new bicycle for Delia and taking her on holiday, the ongoing Sweeney trial loomed in the background.
Frequent arguments ensued between Delia and David as she grappled with moving past her traumatic history. Here's what we know about David.
Who is the actor behind David?
Kevin Doyle, a 64-year-old English actor renowned for his portrayal of Joseph Molesley in Downton Abbey, plays David.
Audiences might also recognise him from Happy Valley, where he played Detective Sergeant John Wadsworth.
His additional credits include The Lakes, Coronation Street, and The Crimson Field.
Born in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, he currently resides in West Yorkshire with his partner Olwen May.

Delia, who continues working as a therapeutic masseuse, opened up before the airing of the show but refrained from discussing others in her life. Speaking to ITV, she revealed her ongoing struggles with mental health: "I am a perfectionist but my life is opposite of perfect."
She further shared her personal challenges, admitting, "I often suffer from depression and anxiety, afraid of life and afraid of the future, a compulsive worrier."
Detailing her inner turmoil, Delia said, "When I look in the mirror I see a stranger. Certain physical pain, I will have for life. I am stuck. I cannot move on, and cannot go further. Fear holds me back from doing certain things."
