Emmerdale's Chas Dingle pregnancy 'sealed' in shock twist - but Liam's not the dad
by Joe Crutchley · Manchester Evening NewsEmmerdale's Chas Dingle, played by Lucy Pargeter, might be heading towards a surprise pregnancy storyline, but viewers are convinced that Liam Cavanagh isn't the father.
Chas has been a central character in the Dales since 2003 and has been involved in numerous major storylines on the ITV soap. Her time in the village has been filled with drama, from affairs to battling cancer. Recently, she shared a kiss with Liam (Jonny McPherson), who is currently in a relationship.
Earlier this year, Chas and Liam had a brief romance during her fight with cancer. However, he has since reconnected with his ex, Ella Forster (Paula Lane). During last week's episode, Liam cheated on Ella with Chas, leading to a passionate encounter at the back of the pub, reports Leeds Live.
Determined not to be the "other woman," Chas insisted that Liam break up with Ella. He eventually did, leaving Ella heartbroken and puzzled about why their relationship ended. In Monday's episode (November 4), Chas and Liam decided to keep their relationship under wraps for the time being.

However, in a potential massive twist, fans believe that Charity could be pregnant. Adding more intrigue to the plot, they suspect that Liam is not the father of the baby. In a Reddit discussion, one person speculated: "Who thinks Chas is gonna pregnant with her and Liam's baby lol."
Another individual commented: "The actress is 47, still possible for her to still get pregnant but obviously decreasingly likely each year. Soap land is never one for scientific accuracy." A third person concurred: "I think it's very likely."
Conspiracy theories also surfaced among viewers that Liam might not be the father of Chas's purported child. One viewer hypothesised: "What if the dad is someone else though?"
To which another replied: "Paddy? That would be a huge twist. Maybe off-screen and drunk? " A third added: "Could do. Not sure if he would do that to Mandy though," while another enthusiast exclaimed: "I would be so here for this!"

Lucy Pargeter, the actress behind Chas, opened up to Digital Spy about her character's connection with Liam, noting: "I think she's probably going back to what she knows because of the fear of going forward with somebody new."
"But it'll be interesting to see if it does go anywhere. I think Liam and Chas make an interesting couple. When Paddy was with Chas, a lot of people said that they weren't a good match.I think Liam's quite different to Chas but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. They could be a good match."
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
