Claire Sweeney is among the Coronation Street star issuing their support to Alan Halsall as his I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here stint was confirmed - but she is also seemingly rooting for her fellow Liverpudlian Coleen Rooney.

Alan, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, and WAG Coleen have already touched down in Australia ahead of the hit reality show returning to screens this Sunday night (November 17) at 9pm.

They were confirmed in the line-up for I'm A Celeb 2024 on Monday night (November 11) alongside Dancing on Ice judge Oti Mabuse, McFly star Danny Jones, Loose Women star Jane Moore, and BBC Radio 1 DJ Melvin Odoom.

Making up this year's line-up are N-Dubz singer Tulisa, former boxer Barry McGuigan, radio presenter Dean McCullough and TikTok and Loose Women star GK Barry.

But back to Alan, who will be taking a break from Corrie to take part in the show, he has said that one of the big reasons for saying ‘yes’ is down to the fact some of his colleagues loved their experience on the show. Alan shared: "I am very close to Andy Whyment and Jenni McAlpine, who have both done it before, and everyone tells me they had such a great experience.

"It’s a life experience and I am sure I will learn some new things about myself along the way too." But he laughed when asked if they have given him any great tips, revealing: "I don’t think you can give a great deal of advice about something like this. I have been watching this every year it has been on, so I know what to expect!"

Following the news being confirmed, Claire took to Instagram and shared the official photo of Alan in his jungle gear and said in view of her fans and followers: "Can’t wait to watch my boy in the jungle on Sunday. He’s funny, kind, witty and very smart he’s my winner! @imacelebrity @coronationstreet @alanhalsall @itv."

But Claire, who play's Alan's on-screen mum Cassie Plummer in Corrie, took to the comments of Coleen Rooney's personal update to issue a show of support as she will also be rooting for the 38-year-old. She said: "Good on you babes. You are gonna be brilliant."

And Claire seemingly wants to set up an alliance between Alan and Coleen as she commented on another of Coleen's posts: "You are gonna love @alanhalsall hes brilliant xxxx."
