Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left concerned for Chris McCausland, despite watching him make it through to another week in the dance show.

It was an emotional weekend in the ballroom for the quick-whitted comedian as he swapped comedy for a moving waltz alongsdie his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell to the anthem You'll Never Walk Alone, in a nod to the comedian's beloved home city and football club.

The tear-jerking rotuine, went down a storm in the studio with the audience giving them a standing ovation as Dianne told Chris she was "so proud of him".

The judges, including Shirley Ballas who needed a minute to gather herself, were also quick to share praise for the routine before awarding them a total of 35 points out of a possible 40 points, their highest score of the BBC One dance contest so far.

It was then during Sunday night's (October 20) results show that it was confirmed Chris and Dianne had made it through to week six of Strictly's 20th-anniversary series, which will see a bunch of spooktacular performances for the show's annual Halloween special.

And Dianne was able to reveal to Chris their song and dance choice for the second themed week of the series so far, confirming they'll be performing a Samba to Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees.

But Strictly fans were quickly rushing to social media to share their concerns as the dance hasn't proved lucky for others so far in the competition and are hoping it won't turn into a Halloween horror for Chris and Dianne.

@DebbieBlackma14 said: "Oh no not the Samba for Chris #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing." @RyanTheSoapking commented: "Chris & Dianne are doing a Samba next week to Stayin Alive by The Bee Gees for Halloween. The dance of death on Halloween Week but I'm looking forward to this. #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly."

@johnrhueston asked: "What did @chrismccausland do to have to dance a samba to Stayin’ Alive? Another challenge for Dianne Buswell. #Strictly." @83VickiB posted: "I would refuse to go first and refuse to dance the samba cos it's a ticket home #strictly." @strictlyblog added: "A Halloween disco samba sounds like the most cursed routine EVER! #Strictly."
