Coronation Street fans spot Kit Green blunder as he arrests DS Lisa Swain in surprise twist

by · Manchester Evening News

Coronation Street fans were quick to point out what they believed to be a major blunder as Kit Green arrested DS Lisa Swain in a murder investigation twist.

As fans of the ITV soap know, the detective constable is currently investigating the murder of Joel Deering. The solicitor first went missing at the end of September. The news was revealed when he failed to show up to court where it was thought that he'd face comeuppance for some of his twisted crimes.

But after transferring money to Lauren Bolton, his grooming victim and now the mother of his son Frankie, and his ex-wife Emily, as well leaving an emotional voicemail for his former fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey, it was believed Joel may have taken his own life after his car was found abandoned,

Not long afterwards, the case became a murder investigation after Joel's body was found floating down a river. However, it was confirmed he'd been killed with a heavy weapon before entering the water and several people have since been put in the frame.

Joel’s wronged ex Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), her dad Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) and uncle Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) are all on the suspects list.

Along with bad boy Mason (Luca Toolan), DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) who was removed from the case after Joel’s involvement with her daughter Betsy was revealed, and the detective investigating the mystery himself DC Green (Jacob Roberts). But during Monday night's Corrie (November 11), during another revealing flashback viewers saw Carla (Alison King) leaving the factory on the night Joel disappeared.

At first viewers thought she herself may have something to hide but as she calls out to someone, viewers were shocked this time to see for the first time that it was Max Turner (Paddy Bever) and Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) outside in the dead of night putting a suitcase into the boot of David Platt's car.

The significance of the flashback emerged as Carla panicked for Lisa, who had earlier been arrested by Kit in the Rovers Return on suspicion of Joel's murder after her CS spray was found alongside a bloodied brick thought to be the new murder weapon. As Carla pleaded Lisa's case to Roy, Ed claimed there was more to come to light after Dee-Dee, who confessed to hitting Joel with a crowbar but left him alive, said she'd confronted Joel after seeing him doing a runner with a suitcase in two.

But it was the scenes at the police station that Corrie fans were distracted by as Kit got stuck into interviewing Lisa and found ways of pinning her as the prime suspect in Joel's murder case. Flocking to social media, they were quick to comment on Kit's interview with Lisa as they suggested he couldn't legally carry out the interrogation as she is ranked above him in the police force, despite being on a break from her duties.
