BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans sad after 'willing' JB Gill moment as some 'gutted' by missed opportunity
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsStrictly Come Dancing fans have been left sad after admitting to 'willing' a moment between JB Gill and his dance partner Amy Dowden after a huge change to their performance this weekend.
The professional dancer wasn't able to rehearse with JB this week and therefore didn't perform during the latest live show on Saturday night (November 2) after she fell ill following last weekend's Halloween special. Lauren Oakley, who does not have a celebrity pairing on this year's series of the BBC One dance competition, instead stepped in to rehearse with JB before joining him to perform the live couple's choice routine to a Bruno Mars medley during Strictly's first-ever 'Icons Week'.
Amy was then later seen fighting tears while praising JB and Lauren's performance, which saw the JLS star bag his first 10s of the series, with the judges awarding him and Lauren 39 out of a possible 40 points. Speaking after their performance and the judges' comments, JB said: "Obviously it's a new partnership, but I've been able to focus on the dancing and just do Amy proud." Lauren added: "I just wanted to make Amy proud and I hope we did. We had fun out there. I hope you had fun watching."

Amy then commented: "I'm so grateful to you, Lauren," before telling everyone: "I came up to Lauren when I was eight years old at Blackpool Tower, and she just danced and I told her I was her biggest fan," she revealed. "So thank you Lauren, thank you J[B]. I wish I could stay with you, you're amazing."

But as they celebrated their scores, Lauren pulled Amy in for a group hug with JB. However, some Strictly fans felt so gutted for Amy they were willing her to join JB and Lauren for the scores together instead of her standing to the side alongside her friend and fellow pro Carlos Gu.
@samthaj said: "Anyone else just desperately willing JB to pull Amy in during the interview and scoring so they were stood as a 3?!" @dawnstanden5 replied: "I was thinking the same." @RoseleighMedia added: "Oh my heart broke a little for Amy there. You could tell that was bittersweet because she should have been getting those 10s with JB. She is a beautiful person and deserves the whole world #strictly @bbcstrictly."
Others, however, joked they were 'gutted' as JB missed an opportunity to perform to his own songs.@TVqueertiques commented: "Gutted JB isn’t doing a Medley of JLS x #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing," while @ElloTeenah added: "JB got to dance how he does in JLS so he must have enjoyed tonight. And TUNES. #Strictly."
