Pete Wicks has shared a five-word message with his fans after they were left 'fuming' by an announcement about his upcoming Strictly Come Dancing appearance in Blackpool.

The reality star and podcast host and his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal were delighted to make it through to another week in the competition after an emotional weekend in the ballroom.

The latest live show last Saturday night (November 9) marked a poignant night for reality star and podcast host Pete as week eight of the BBC One dance contest arrived. He used the couple's choice performance with Jowita to pay tribute to his late beloved nan, Doreen.

Pete, who was visibly fighting back the tears, and Jowita went on to be praised for their "moving" performance to The Best by Nicotine Dolls, in tribute to Pete's late grandmother, with the song being used at her funeral in 2022.

It was then later confirmed during Sunday night's (November 10) results show that Pete and Jowita had made it through to week nine of the BBC One dance contest, which will see the show relocate to Blackpool for its annual special in the iconic Tower Ballroom.

As they spoke to co-host Claudia Winkleman about securing their place in the next week, Pete was left with his head in his hands when Jowita revealed their next dance and the song it will be performed to.

Asked what the couple are dancing to next week, Jowita laughed and said "are you sure", before Pete responded "I don't like the sound of this already." His pro partner revealed: "So we are doing a Cha Cha Cha to I'm too sexy for my shirt." Contestant Chris McCausland was then quick to joke: "Pete, I've never seen you dance but this is your song," to which Pete put his head in his hands.
