Former X Factor judge and N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos has admitted her 'fear' and revealed why she 'avoided the spotlight' after it was announced she would be joining the star studded I'm A Celeb line up.

The new crop of celebrity campmates will be heading Down Under as the show's hosts and crew jet off to the jungle for the three-week series.

The 2024 run of the hit ITV reality show will be premiering on Sunday, November 17, at 9pm, with a 105-minute special before airing every night - except on a Saturday - until December 8 when the final is expected to take place.

The host of celebrities taking part has now been revealed, including former Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall, WAG Coleen Rooney and McFly's Danny Jones.

Ahead of the new series airing, after the singer was seen touching down at Brisbane Airport in a grey sweater, cap and face covering, Tulisa revealed why she avoided the spotlight in recent years, saying it was due to an 'irrational fear'.

In an interview with ITV, the star, 36, said she 'doesn't want to draw attention' to herself and aims to be her 'true authentic self' in the show, filmed in the forests of Australia.

She said: “I will probably struggle in the first few days as doing something like this is a big deal for me. I haven’t been thrust this much into the spotlight in a while and I have avoided it out of irrational fear.

"I will probably be the most emotional when I first go in. It will take me a while to settle in, but I know I will get past that.

She added: “I am going to pack three plain bikinis, as I don’t want to draw attention to myself. My number one mission is to be my true authentic self.

“If me being my authentic self connects with people in a mass way, then it must mean I’m doing something right in life. But I am not going to go looking for it.

"I have always said I wouldn’t do this show in the past, as there are things that have terrified me. But the person I am now, I want to throw caution to the wind.”
