Paddy McGuinness shares relatable parent admission in 'memo to self'

by · Manchester Evening News

Paddy McGuinness shared a very relatable admission about being a parent to young children as he used the opportunity to give a 'memo' to himself.

Fans will know that the comedian and presenter shares three children - twins Penelope and Leo and youngest daughter Felicity - with his ex-wife Christine.

In 2021 the couple surprisingly announced they were going their separate ways, sharing a joint statement in which they said their "main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children". They have continued living together in their Cheshire family home.

Taking to social media this week, Paddy shared how he was out shopping with one of his daughters and shared a picture to Instagram of his shopping basket as a result of having one of his little ones in tow.

"Memo to self. Never, ever, ever take my youngest daughter when I’m doing a quick food shop. #daddysgirl," he typed alongside the photo which showed a large Barbie toy in his basket alongside plenty of Halloween-themed treats and decorations.

And his fans and followers were quick to respond. @louiseowen101080 said: "Enjoy it now Paddy. Wait until she’s a teenager. @kaz.t_ commented: "Wrapped around her finger haha love it. Wait till you possibly have grand kids, it gets worse, they don't have to ask much."

It comes after Christine opened up about the challenges of co-parenting with her ex-husband. In a recent interview, she disclosed that Paddy was only at home for five days during the summer.

Christine has faced criticism from online trolls for taking holidays, but she clarified that she only travels when Paddy is at home with the children - which has been infrequent in recent months. The model confessed that Paddy's work commitments away from home have made co-parenting more manageable for her mentally, and she enjoys the opportunity to travel when her ex is at home.

"Co-parenting means that when he's back, he's entitled to his time and it's good for the children they love spending time together. So it makes sense for me to disappear for a couple of days and enjoy it," she shared with new! magazine.

However, Christine admitted that she will "really struggle" when the time comes for her and Paddy to live separately, and sadly added that it will be a "massive shock" to the family, reports the Mirror.
