BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Nadiya Bychkova makes 'breaking news' announcement and says 'you need to be tough'
by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsNadiya Bychkova has shared a 'breaking news' announcement with fans as she told them she 'needs to be tough' as a dancer. The Strictly Come Dancing star was speaking over the weekend as she was hit by an injury blow.
Nadiya suffered a broken bone last week in a freak accident during rehearsals. The Ukrainian professional dancer is said to have fell while practicing for a group routine and landed on her hand on Wednesday (October 30) ahead of the latest live show on Saturday night (November 3).
But she didn't let it hold her back and she was seen supporting her fellow Strictly stars during the first-ever 'Icons Week'. Taking to social media, Nadiya posted a string of glamourous snaps taken by her co-star Gorka Marquez and confirmed her injury mishap.

She told her fans and followers as she dazzled in a purple sparkling dress boasting cut out detailing around her incredible abs: "BREAKING NEWS. I can’t believe it but I’ve broken my thumb rehearsing for Strictly this week.
"It was a complete accident and the team have been looking after me but it is huge, purple and really painful. I love dancing but you do need to be tough sometimes. I’m still fine to be part of the show and I can’t wait for tonight. I’ll be the one stood behind Claudia, looking fabulous, with a massive thumb."
Her former Strictly dance partner Dan Walker was quick to respond, writing: "Sorry to hear that partner. I hope it heals nice and quickly," before her fans and followers rushed to share their well wishes.
